Close Up & Personal No.2 …

01/11/2018

Albelli, having been gobbled up by BonusPrint, meant that I was creating a photo book this summer via the same organisation with whom I would have had my pre-digital holiday snaps printed in the last century…

A tad fatter than CU&PNo.1, this volume of mostly macro mode – and still personal – phone camera shots comes in at 42 pages.

Included in this miscellany of images: paste ERII coronation regalia, lobsters real and rubber, heavy metals on a yacht deck, alcoholic beverages and sugar-rich treats, wiring juxtaposed with flora – and just a hint of Moomins…

Shopfronts, Scaffolding & Cafes…

15/04/2018
It was 4 years ago – in 2014 – that I was able to create a-blog-post-a-day during April for NaPoWriMo – the National Poetry Writing Month;
I posted 30 days’ worth of 17 syllable haikus (with accompanying photographs) in OTTP Haiku City.
In the 28 months when I didn’t manage to publish any posts on this OTTP blog: Person is Not a Rude Word, I did (happily) manage to get my painful hands to assemble 2 photo books – one each July – in time to give as a gift to my mother for her August birthday.
These photo books can be viewed online from the links below.
I’m plotting to lazily borrow 3 seventeen-syllable mini proems from ‘Haiku City’ to introduce them…
Or, I could proverbially preamble that Spring has finally sprung, folk are sitting out in cafes, building owners have more scaffolding put in place, tourists are arriving and window shopping...

Nah!  I’ll stick with the haikus.

Close Up and Personal No.1…

16/03/2015

Taking a departure from moving fotovideos and grid-locked fotomosaics, my latest foto venture is an Albelli foto/photo book ‘close up and personal no.1’ : a slim volume of 30-something pages [as oppose to the 250+ images tome of the earlier Blurb fotobook ‘Utilitarian: A Pavement Level Perspective’ on all-things-manhole ]

How close up?  The images are mostly in macro mode…

and personal? Well…

I made the potato salad

I grew the marigolds

I’ve owned a blue-haired troll since 1999

I watch detective forensic dvds

As an ex-Nissan owner, I find Tarmac Terrorist a nice phrase but a noisy concept

I don’t like getting raindrops on my specs

I do like Boogaloo Stu’s shoes!

So here’s a taster image:

Eyes-Down Grounding…

29/05/2014

20140523_183632

To compensate for being high-person-exhausted from 3 solid weeks of art installations and happenings during Brighton’s Fringe & Festival month, I thought a bit of grounding via ‘curating / collating’ my incidental (not snapaholic) pavement-level Fotography of recent 3 months would be in order to help bring me downward…

Other previous manhole-cover-obsessive images can be (re)viewed at https://offthetrolleyproductions.wordpress.com/2012/12/20/all-things-manhole/ or previewed in my Blurb ebook ‘Utilitarian: A Pavement-Level Perspective’.)

(the definitely-obsessive 21-shot mosaics from said art happenings may follow in future posts…)
